Online Spring Single Bloom Show

We will be holding an ‘Online’ Spring Single Bloom Show with a reduced schedule. I know this is no substitute for our show at the village hall, sorry no sandwiches and cakes or the chance to meet friends and scrutinise the judging together. However, it will offer the opportunity to use some of the daffodil blooms lovingly grown this season.

Entries can be sent by email or using your mobile phone. You can use a camera or a mobile phone to take the photographs, in the daffodil classes you just need to take a picture of the bloom, similar to those in the bulb catalogues, for the three bloom class all three blooms need to be in the picture. The images should be at a low resolution, to avoid the need to reduce the resolution when images are prepared for the web site. Editing of the image is prohibited, other than cropping. The entries must be photographed on Tuesday 7th April, using the same plain background for each entry. Images must be tagged with the Class number and the name of the cultivar. Entries will be judged on Wednesday 8th April by a Daffodil Society judge, who has judged a similar show and helped draw up the schedule.

We urged everyone to have a go, even if you have not shown Daffodils before, if you are uncertain of the division of your daffodil, we will endeavour to place it in the correct class.

This a step into the unknown, we are not sure how is it all going to work out, but it should provide a much-needed bit of fun.

Robin Pearce – Secretary
